History of Meadows of Hope

Her Passion

From a young age Dr. Reupah Philips has been passionate about helping people with their personal struggles and relationship issues. This yearning to help people directed her to equip herself with a diploma in counsellor training. After marriage she realized that her husband was equally passionate as a people helper. Their complementing passion enabled them to continue the journey as people helpers apart from their existing jobs. As her passion to assist people during their difficulties increased, she completed her master’s degree in psychology which gave her enormous opportunities to fulfil her passion. And subsequently she completed her Doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of the Cumberlands at the United States.

Her Experiences and Journey

She has supported couples with marital struggles and parental concerns since 2003. She has been invited to speak at seminars and conferences as well. Due to the escalating needs with difficult relationships in families, together with her husband, they focused on training couples to move from a curative approach to a preventive form of solving problems. Therefore, the time offered in training couples and parents was central by enhancing communication skills in marriage and developing strengths in the areas for improvement for individuals. Furthermore, emphasis was provided to premarital counselling to enable couples begin their marriages on a firm foundation with sufficient skills and knowledge.

Since 2007, her travel to different countries and cities widened her scope to work with multi-cultural communities. She has been able to offer her counselling services to people of different ethnicities which particularly developed her cross-cultural experiences. 2010 onwards, she focused on mentoring counsellors and teaching in various academic circles as an adjunct faculty. In addition, she consulted at a multi specialty hospital as a psychologist and offered her counselling services as private practitioner.
